David John Lloyd is a former Welsh rugby union player and coach, known for playing as a prop. He made his debut for the Welsh national team in 1966 and captained the team three times in a total of 24 international matches. Lloyd served as captain for Bridgend RFC, where he later took on the role of coach. He became the national team coach for Wales in 1980 but stepped down after a disappointing result against Scotland. He subsequently coached the University of Wales rugby team and worked as a physical education teacher.
