John Martin Mannion (1944-2006) was an Irish politician associated with Fine Gael, serving as a TD for four years and a senator for ten. Before his political career, he was a farmer, auctioneer, and businessman. Mannion was a long-serving member of Galway County Council and was elected to the Seanad after succeeding his father. He faced challenges in gaining a Dáil seat, initially losing in 1973 but winning in 1977. He served only one term in the Dáil, returning to the Seanad until retiring in 1983. He struggled with arthritis in later life and passed away at 61.
