John McCallister is a Northern Irish Unionist politician born on 20 February 1972. He served as a member of the Northern Ireland Assembly after being elected for the Ulster Unionist Party in 2007 representing South Down. In 2013, he resigned from the UUP due to an electoral pact with the Democratic Unionist Party. He co-founded the NI21 party with Basil McCrea but left within a year amid internal disputes. McCallister ran as an Independent in the 2016 election but lost his seat, garnering only 2.8% of the votes.
