John McNaught was a Canadian radio broadcaster and writer, best known by his pseudonym James Bannerman. He worked as an announcer for CBC Radio and hosted shows on CBC Television in the 1950s and 1960s. Born in Toronto, he was educated at Upper Canada College and the University of Toronto. McNaught served in the Royal Canadian Navy during WWII. He wrote broadcast scripts and contributed articles to various magazines. His widow donated his papers to McMaster University after his death in 1970.
