John Misha Petkevich is a former American figure skater born on March 3, 1949, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was the U.S. champion in 1971 and placed fourth at the 1972 Olympics. Petkevich also competed in four World Championships, achieving his best result, fifth place, in 1969, 1970, and 1971. Known for his dynamic performances and unique style, he influenced many skaters. Petkevich later earned a doctorate in cell biology and worked as an investment banker while also contributing as a commentator and author of the definitive figure skating book 'Championship Techniques.'
