John Burton Mustin is a retired U.S. Navy vice admiral born on January 24, 1967. He served as the 15th Chief of Navy Reserve from August 7, 2020, to August 23, 2024, after holding the position of Vice Commander of the United States Fleet Forces Command. Mustin graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1990 with a degree in weapons and systems engineering. Raised in Alexandria, Virginia, he also holds a master's in operations research from the Naval Postgraduate School and an MBA from Babson College.
