John Mwesigwa Robin Nagenda (1938-2023) was a notable Ugandan writer, political figure, and sportsman who made significant contributions to post-colonial English literature in East Africa during the 1960s. Exiled in the UK during the 1970s and 1980s, he returned to Uganda in 1986 and became a senior advisor to President Yoweri Museveni. In addition, he was a prominent columnist and represented East Africa in the 1975 Cricket World Cup, later serving as president of the Uganda Cricket Association.
