John Niemeyer Findlay, also known as J. N. Findlay, was a South African philosopher born on November 25, 1903, in Pretoria and passed away on September 27, 1987. He was a member of the British Academy and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Findlay served on the editorial board of the journal Dionysius. In his honor, a chair for visiting professorships at Boston University and a biennial award by the Metaphysical Society of America for the best publication in metaphysics are named after him.
