John Philip Burrows (born 1954) is a physicist and professor specialized in ocean and atmospheric physics, serving as the director of the Institute of Environmental Physics and Remote Sensing at the University of Bremen. He is also a Fellow at the Center for Ecology and Hydrology. Educated at Trinity College, Cambridge, he earned a BA in Natural Sciences and a PhD under Brian Arthur Thrush. His research contributes to understanding air pollution, the ozone layer, and climate change, including the SCIAMACHY project with DLR, ESA, and NASA.
