John C. Pierrakos was an American psychiatrist and co-founder of bioenergetics. He developed Core Energetics, integrating spiritual dimensions into bioenergetic therapy, and promoted a holistic view of psychology and meditation through pathwork. He collaborated with Alexander Lowen and founded the Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis in 1956. After his wife Eva Broch's death, Pierrakos focused on therapist training and traveled internationally to share his work until his death in 2001.
