John Patrick Platten, born on March 17, 1963, is a retired Australian Rules Football player known for his illustrious career in the SANFL and AFL. He won a Magarey Medal while playing for Central District and later achieved significant success with the Hawthorn Football Club, including four premierships and the prestigious 1987 Brownlow Medal. Platten is highly respected at both of his playing clubs and has been recognized with inductions into both the AFL and SANFL Halls of Fame.
