John Rafferty Jr. is an American politician born on February 7, 1953. He served as a Republican member of the Pennsylvania State Senate for the 44th District from 2003 until 2019. In 2016, he ran as the Republican nominee for Attorney General of Pennsylvania but lost to Democrat Josh Shapiro. The following election in 2018, he was not re-elected, as he was defeated by Democrat Katie Muth. Throughout his political career, he was involved in various legislative initiatives within the state.
