John Reddaway was a British diplomat who served as Deputy Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East from 1960 to 1968. He was born in Ilford on April 12, 1916, and was educated at Ilford County High School and the University of Reading. His career included positions in the Colonial Administrative Service in Cyprus and as Director-General of the Arab-British Centre in London. He was awarded the OBE in 1957 and the CMG in 1959.
