John Rowan (1925–2018) was an English author and psychotherapist who played a key role in the development of humanistic psychology and integrative psychotherapy. He was known for his work in transpersonal psychology and the concept of subpersonality. Rowan was qualified both as an individual and group psychotherapist, as well as a counseling psychologist and accredited counselor. His therapeutic approach emphasized humanistic and existential principles, with a focus on the dialogical self, which evolved from subpersonalities theory.
