John Swedenmark is a Swedish essayist, translator, and editor born on February 25, 1960, in Sundsvall. He served as the culture editor for the newspaper Arbetet from 2007 to 2014 and was named Editor of the Year in 2014 by the Swedish Journalists' Association. Swedenmark has written extensively on translation theory, literary criticism, and psychoanalysis. He is involved with the journals Divan and Karavan and has published collections of his articles. As a translator, he specializes in Icelandic literature.
