John Vincent Atanasoff (1903 – 1995) was an American physicist, engineer, professor, mathematician, and computer scientist. He was born in Mulberry and is known for his contributions to computer science, particularly in the development of the first electronic computer. Atanasoff passed away in Venezuela at the age of 92. His work laid the foundation for modern computing.
