John William Handy, born on April 29, 1944, is a retired United States Air Force general who served from 1967 to 2005. He held various high-ranking commands, including Vice Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force and Commander of the United States Transportation Command. Handy is a command pilot with over 5,000 flying hours, mostly in airlift aircraft, and logged over 300 combat hours in Southeast Asia as a C-130 Hercules pilot.
