John B. Podesto, known as Presto Podesto, was an American football quarterback and halfback born on March 26, 1921, in Modesto. He played for the St. Mary's Gaels in college football. In the 1944 NFL draft, he was selected in the first round by the Pittsburgh Steelers as the 10th overall pick, although he never played for them. He was also signed by the Chicago Bears but did not see playing time with the team either. Podesto passed away on November 13, 2015.
