He played with notable musicians like Buddy Rich, Gene Williams, and Phil Woods. Eardley gained recognition for his work with Gerry Mulligan's quartets and sextets from 1954 to 1957. He moved to Belgium in 1963 and later to Germany, where he performed with various orchestras and taught at a music school in Cologne, collaborating with artists like Chet Baker.
