Jon Erik Torgersen, also known by his stage name 'Tyr', is a Norwegian black metal bassist born on June 22, 1972. He was a live artist for the well-known black metal band Emperor from 1998 to 2001 and played in the band Perished from 1991 to 1994. Torgersen has been a member of Borknagar from 2000 to 2003 and again from 2006 to the present. Additionally, he has been involved with the unsigned death metal band Thornbound and has performed with the black metal band Satyricon and the viking metal band Vintersorg.
