Jon Faddis is an American jazz trumpeter born on July 24, 1953. He joined Lionel Hampton's big band at the age of eighteen and later worked with the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra. Faddis has collaborated with a variety of musicians, including jazz legends like Anthony Braxton and Charles Mingus, as well as non-jazz artists like Paul Simon and Eric Clapton. He has released several albums and appeared in the film Blues Brothers 2000 in 1998.
