Jon Fløistad is a Norwegian farmer, horticulturist, and politician born on April 19, 1938. He served as the county mayor of Aust-Agder from 1995 to 1999 and was previously the deputy county mayor. Fløistad has experience in local politics in the former Øyestad municipality in Arendal. He holds a degree in horticulture and was actively involved in agriculture until 2010 when he handed over the family farm. In his later career, he was a full-time politician and contributed significantly to environmental advocacy, particularly against acid rain and in salmon restoration efforts in the Nidelva river.
