Lang's decision not to run for reelection and has won subsequent elections in 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019. In his leadership, he has focused on enhancing the local port and developing the offshore wind industry, while also working on educational reforms in the New Bedford Public Schools, which were rated underperforming prior to his tenure.
