Jonah Parzen-Johnson is a baritone saxophonist based in Brooklyn, New York, originally from Chicago's South Side. He holds a Bachelor of Music in jazz studies from New York University and a Master of Music in jazz saxophone from Manhattan School of Music. Parzen-Johnson blends folk music with avant-jazz in his performances, using circular breathing and multiphonics. He also plays an analog synthesizer tailored to his saxophone. In 2015, he toured across 34 US cities and published a book on community insights, titled 'Three Reasons to Live Here'.
