Jonas Henrique de Jesus Moreira, known as Mestre Jonas, was a Brazilian plastic artist, composer, guitarist, and music producer born in Belo Horizonte on April 18, 1976. He was the creator and producer of notable projects such as Samba da Madrugada and Samba do Compositor. Tragically, he passed away at the age of 35 due to a stroke. In his memory, the Mestre Jonas Marchinhas Contest was established in 2012, an annual competition to find the best carnival song in the traditional marchinha style in Belo Horizonte.
