Jonathan Balcombe (born February 28, 1959) is an English ethologist and author. He is currently the director of Animal Sentience at the Humane Society Institute for Science and Policy, and heads the Animal Studies Department at Humane Society University in Washington. Balcombe lectures internationally on animal behavior and the human-animal relationship. He is also a co-editor of the journal Animal Sentience.
