Jónína Leósdóttir is an Icelandic author, playwright, and former journalist, born on May 16, 1954. She is known for her notable works, including numerous plays, eleven novels, and two biographies, originally published in a women's magazine. Jónína is the partner of Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir, Iceland's first openly lesbian Prime Minister, with whom she entered a civil partnership in 2010. They have been publicly recognized as one of Iceland's first same-sex couples. Jónína holds a Bachelor's degree in English and Literature from the University of Iceland and has published works that have been translated into several languages.
