Joost Huijsing is a Dutch journalist and radio producer born on April 28, 1952, in Hilversum. He graduated from the School for Journalism in Utrecht in 1976 and began working as a freelance reporter and director. He became involved with the Sunday morning radio program 'Vroege Vogels' in 1978, co-managing the show and its related projects with his wife from 1985. He served as the program's editor and radio reporter until his retirement in 2016. Huijsing is also known for establishing the Jan Wolkers Prize for best nature book.
