Jordi Colomer i Gallego is a prominent Catalan mountaineer and sports leader born on April 10, 1942, in Barcelona. He opened the Mas-Colomer route in 1963 and has participated in significant expeditions, including to Mount Kenya and Ruwenzori in 1966. He directed multiple teams, notably to Alpamayo in 1972. Colomer has held leadership roles, including presidency of the International Ski Mountaineering Council and vice presidency of the UIAA. He revived Spanish mountain groups and received the merit medal from the Consejo Superior de Deportes in 2007. He was honored by the Grup Cavall Bernat in 2022.
