Jordi Roura i Goicoechea was a Catalan teacher and sculptor, born in Barcelona in 1928 and passed away on January 3, 2011, in Navata. He was a founding member of the ELISAVA School of Design and was married to painter Remei Martínez-Marí until her death in 2006. Roura was known for his interest in perceptual aspects of form, showcased in his doctoral thesis. He merged teaching with personal artistic creation, leading workshops on perception in art and color across various institutions, but only held his first solo exhibition in 2008.
