Jörg Peter is a German civil engineer born on December 12, 1931, in Schmalkalden. After graduating from high school in 1951, he moved to the West due to the impossibility of studying civil engineering in East Germany. He studied at the Technical University of Stuttgart, where he became the assistant and first doctoral student of Fritz Leonhardt, earning his PhD in 1964. In 1965, he co-founded the engineering office Peter und Lochner, specializing in concrete silos. Peter has contributed significantly to various engineering projects, including the renovation of the Dresden Frauenkirche.
