Jorge Carlos Mosonyi was a Venezuelan Esperantist born in Hungary on February 7, 1947. He moved to Venezuela as a child and self-taught Esperanto in 1973. A prominent member of the Venezuelan Esperanto Association, he served multiple times as its president until his death in 2009. Mosonyi translated many fables from indigenous Venezuelan cultures and worked extensively with indigenous languages. He passed away in a motorcycle accident, leaving a significant impact on the Esperantist community in Venezuela.
