Jorge Adolfo de Castro-Font, born on September 10, 1963, is a former Puerto Rican senator and member of the House of Representatives. Initially part of the Popular Democratic Party, he became an independent in 2001 before joining the New Progressive Party in 2002. De Castro Font was elected Senator in 2004 and 2008 despite facing internal conflicts and legal issues. His political career took a downturn when he was arrested by the FBI in 2008 on 21 charges of fraud and conspiracy, leading to a 5-year federal prison sentence and 3 years of probation.
