Jorge de la Vega Domínguez is a Mexican politician born on March 14, 1931, in Comitán, Chiapas. He is a member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and has held various significant positions, including Secretary of Commerce, Secretary of Agriculture and Hydraulic Resources, Governor of Chiapas, and Ambassador of Mexico to Canada. He obtained a degree in Economics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 1958 and directed the Superior School of Economics at the National Polytechnic Institute. He was also the president of the National College of Economists from 1961 to 1963.
