Jorge Hugo Arguindegui was an Argentine military officer born in Buenos Aires on December 24, 1929. He served as the commander of the Argentine Army from late 1983 to mid-1984, making him the first military chief after the National Reorganization Process. His tenure was short-lived due to conflicts with President Raúl Alfonsín and Defense Minister Raúl Borrás. Arguindegui passed away in Mar del Plata on January 24, 1997.
