Jorge Santiago Perednik (January 29, 1952 – December 23, 2011) was an Argentine poet, translator, and editor known for his formal experimentation and political critique in poetry. Since 1991, he led the poetry program at the University of Buenos Aires. He edited the magazine XUL from 1980 to 1997, compiling influential anthologies that examined Argentinian poetry during the dictatorship. His works include essays and significant translations, emphasizing poetry as a means of cultural resistance against oppressive regimes.
