Jorge Silvestre Andrés was a Valencian politician, serving as the mayor of Alcoi and president of the Diputación de Alicante. He fought in the Spanish Civil War for the Popular Army of the Republic. After the war, he graduated in law from the University of Valencia and entered the business world. He led several organizations, including as president of Papeleras Reunidas and mayor from 1972 to 1975, promoting urban development and cultural events. Later, he became president of the Diputación de Alicante and left politics during Spain's transition.
