He was elected to various positions, including state deputy, vice-mayor of Aracaju, and senator. Lima has switched political parties multiple times, being affiliated with PDT, PSDB, PMDB, and PPS over the years. He has run for mayor of Aracaju on several occasions but faced mixed success in elections.
