José Blanco, born on February 18, 1965, in Barakaldo, Bizkaia, is a Spanish writer and graphic artist. He began writing poetry at a young age and became more serious after studying Philology and participating in a literary workshop in Barakaldo. His first two poetry collections, 'Las obras de la mar. Las obras del amor' and 'Cuaderno de bitácora,' won awards. In 1997, he published 'Canción triste de Europa.' He has also released poetry books such as 'Mira mi corazón preso en el ámbar de los instantes eternos' and 'Las nubes.' Blanco has been the coordinator of the magazine Metamorfosis since 1999.
