José Evandro de Oliveira Brandão, also known as Evandro Brandão, was a Brazilian lawyer, poet, journalist, composer, and activist born on April 25, 1938, in Paratinga. He was a journalist and a founder of the newspaper O Ibopatinga and played a significant role in leftist nationalist movements. During the military regime in Brazil, he faced persecution and nearly faced imprisonment. He passed away on August 14, 1994, during a speech. His notable work includes the poem 'Acalanto'.
