José Isasa Olaizola, known as Fermín, was a Basque anti-Franco guerrilla born in Donostia on February 25, 1911, and executed on January 14, 1947, in Madrid. He was pivotal in establishing anti-fascist militias during the Spanish Civil War and led a battalion in the 114th Brigade. Following the war, he organized guerrilla efforts in Spain post-exile in France and Latin America, working closely with various Communist Party factions until his arrest and subsequent execution.
