José Tomás Larrañaga Arenas, known as Txiki or José Txiki, was a Spanish politician born on March 7, 1926, in Azcoitia. He became involved in politics and was notable for his stance against the violent separatist group ETA. Tragically, he lost his life when he was assassinated by ETA on December 31, 1984, in Azcoitia, leaving a significant mark on the political landscape in Spain during a turbulent time.
