José Luis Aresti Aguirre was a Spanish combat pilot, flight instructor, and acrobatic pilot born on March 17, 1917, in Erandio, Vizcaya. He began his aviation training during the Spanish Civil War and flew various military aircraft, including the Polikarpov I-16. Aresti trained over 2,000 pilots and was a prominent figure in Spanish aviation. He also organized the first aerial round-the-world flight in Spain in 1949, and in 1967, he served as president of the acrobatic commission of the International Aeronautical Federation. He passed away on November 18, 2003, in Madrid.
