José Luis 'Pepín' Corripio Estrada, born on March 12, 1934, in Arroes, is a Dominican businessman of Spanish origin. He emigrated to the Dominican Republic with his family to escape the Spanish Civil War during his childhood. His father, Manuel Corripio García, established a prosperous business. By the time of dictator Rafael Trujillo's death in 1961, Corripio García was the third richest man in the Dominican Republic. José Luis continued to expand and diversify the family business into the Grupo Corripio, becoming the richest man in the country.
