José María Álvarez Suárez, also known as Pepe Álvarez, is a Spanish trade unionist born on March 20, 1956, in Miranda. He is currently the Secretary-General of the UXT (Union General of Workers), a position he assumed on March 12, 2016, succeeding Cándido Méndez. Álvarez also served as the Secretary-General of the UXT in Catalonia from 1990 to 2016, demonstrating his long-standing involvement in labor activism and leadership within the union structure.
