José Claudio Martínez-Zorilla Schnaider was a notable Mexican American football player from Guadalajara. He played for Cornell University's Big Red football team from 1930 to 1932, earning recognition as a first-team end in the College Football All-America Team in 1932. After graduating, he became the head athletic coach for Mexico's polytechnical schools. Beyond football, he also played polo for Mexico's international team and competed in fencing, representing Mexico at the 1936 Summer Olympics in the épée event. Later, he trained as a flying cadet in the United States during the early 1940s.
