Josef Baxa is a Czech judge born on December 31, 1959, in Klatovy. As of August 2023, he serves as the President of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic. Previously, he held the position of President of the Supreme Administrative Court from 2003 to 2018 and was the Deputy Minister of Justice from 1998 to 2002. He is involved in the founding of the Faculty of Law at the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň, where he teaches criminal law and co-authored commentaries on criminal and tax codes.
