Josef Mikonya was a Hungarian-German writer born on March 23, 1928, in Tarján, near Tatabánya, Hungary. He worked for 22 years as a miner and for 13 years as a metallurgist in Tatabánya. In addition to his labor, Mikonya published short stories and poems in various outlets including the 'Neue Zeitung' in Budapest, 'Unsere Post', and anthologies. He passed away on September 3, 2006, in his birthplace.
