Born on March 8, 1960, in San Cristóbal, she served as a deputy in the National Congress for San Cristóbal province during the periods of 2010-2016 and 2016-2020. Tamarez was a member of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) until her resignation in October 2019, after which she joined the People's Force party, founded by Leonel Fernández.
