Josep Maria Busquets i Fontgibell is a former Catalan motorcycle racer born on December 15, 1939, in Montbrió del Camp. He was a three-time Spanish Champion, winning titles in 1963 (250cc) and in 1966 (50cc and 125cc). Busquets was the first rider to compete in the iconic Derbi in the World Championship, participating in the newly created 50cc category in the 1962 season. He also specialized in endurance racing, becoming a European runner-up twice and a Spanish runner-up twice, and he won the prestigious 24 Hours of Montjuïc in 1966.
